Claude MCP setup

Add FactIQ to Claude

Connect Claude (web and desktop) to FactIQ's MCP server for official economic and financial time series, live market data, and inline charts grounded in sourced data.

Paid Claude plan

Custom connectors are available on Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise, an admin may need to allow custom connectors first.

FactIQ MCP URL

Use the hosted remote MCP endpoint: https://api.factiq.com/mcp.

FactIQ account

Claude will start FactIQ's OAuth sign-in flow. Email, Google, and passkey sign-in all work.

Add the connector in Claude

These steps follow Claude's current custom connector flow: open Settings, add a custom connector with the FactIQ MCP URL, authenticate, then enable it in a chat.

    Open connector settings

    In Claude, open Settings then Connectors. Scroll to the bottom and click Add custom connector.

    Enter the FactIQ details

    Name it FactIQ, paste the remote MCP URL https://api.factiq.com/mcp into the URL field, then click Add.

    Connect your FactIQ account

    Click Connect and approve the FactIQ OAuth prompt. The connector uses your FactIQ login; no API key is needed.

    Enable FactIQ in a chat

    Start a new conversation, open the Search and tools menu in the composer, and turn on FactIQ's tools.

  • Compare US and China CPI inflation year-over-year for the last five years.
  • Plot the US 10-year Treasury yield, monthly, since 2020.

What Claude gets

A read-only data connector with chart rendering

Economic data

BLS, BEA, Census, EIA, Treasury, IMF, World Bank, India, China, Singapore, and other official sources.

OAuth scoped

The Claude connection is authenticated through FactIQ and can be disconnected from Claude when you no longer need it.

Common setup issues

No custom connector option

Custom connectors require a paid plan. On Team and Enterprise, an admin has to allow custom connectors in the org settings first.

Connection fails

Confirm the URL is exactly https://api.factiq.com/mcp. The server is public HTTPS and supports Claude's remote MCP flow.

OAuth gets stuck

Sign in to FactIQ in the same browser, then re-run Connect. You can also remove and re-add the connector from Claude settings.

Tools missing in chat

Open the Search and tools menu in the composer and toggle FactIQ on. Tools are enabled per conversation.
